Hennessey’s Goliath 6×6 pickup truck is based on the Chevy Silverado

We did not know this morning that Hennessey would follow up on his Ford Raptor-based VelociRaptor 6×6 pickup with a matching model built on top of the foundations of the updated 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, but we're certainly not surprised. Passionate the Goliath, this six-wheel drive beast is based on Chevy's new off-road-biased 2019 Trail Boss trim. But it does not appear that the suspension upgrades of that truck remain after the adjustment.

Under the ridiculously long hood is Chevy's 6.2-liter V8 engine of the top shelf, supplemented with a 2.9-liter supercharger that crams 7 psi boost into its cylinders to a claimed 705 horsepower and 675 to produce pound-foot torque. An even larger engine option is available with a whopping 808 hp.

By comparison, the VelociRaptor's 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine manages a milder 600 horsepower and 622 lb-ft. Those extra ponies will enable the Goliath to hit 60 mph in the mid-4 second range, says Hennessey. That's a few tenths of a second faster than the 4.8-second claimed time for the VelociRaptor. Score a point for movement.

An 8-inch lift kit fits the Goliath upwards and a completely new rear suspension & # 39; connects to a whole & # 39; other axis at the back to provide the required 6×6 capabilities. A new bed is also required and present in the above views. A set of 20-inch wheels and 37-inch BF Goodrich tires complete the package. We should also note that the above images are absolutely digitally rendered renderings, so the final super truck might look a bit different.

Hennessey plans to build 24 of these six-wheeled beasts, each of which will start at $ 375,000 (including the costs of the Silverado donor). It is available for export to international markets, and we can imagine that quite a few Goliaths will make the journey to more sandy climates.
